Old School RuneScape Proposes Changes to Death Drops
This change will alter how death piles are currently operated into something that is more flexible. When players die and drop their items and the clock begins to tick and if they're not able to return to their pile of items and it disappears within 60 minutes without exclusion. The risk of losing your items is a the norm in Ultimate Ironman and is something players are used to, however, it's something the OSRS Gold team is pondering what it would be like to take this 60-minute timer and make it a player-dependent feature rather than a simple timer that doesn't have any limitations.
Anyone who's played online know that there are times when servers fail, or there's a lot of delay on your part that your connection isn't working or will not stay online for long enough. Couple this with a timer that is running out and you'll lose your games for ever. This is a part of the reasoning about the change that is proposed and a more fair chance for the players. This may even inspire players to be more willing to risk their money.
If a player dies according to the changes proposed in the proposed changes, if you quit or disconnect, the items from the death pile are linked to the character and the timer of despair will stop. When you log back in it will begin clocking down again. You still have an hour however, should the server go down, you won't be out of luck.
As the change is only this, and how the present system works and is a matter for people in the group to determine if they'd like any changes whatsoever. The team is however coming from a position where they're taking a look at the risks and making it worthwhile taking into Buy Runescape Account potential technical problems.
